The Construction of the Sahand F-Class 451 MW combined cycle power plant in East Azerbaijan province began with a video conference on the order of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday 1st August 2019.
The working scope includes the construction of a combined cycle block consisting of one gas unit with the capacity of 307 megawatts and a steam turbine with the capacity of 144 megawatts in ISO conditions (totally 451 megawatts) and 58% efficiency.
Client of Project is Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, MAPNA Group as a Contractor, Ghods Niroo Engineering Company as an Engineering Consultant and Niroo Consulting Engineering Company as a site Supervisor.
The power plant will be built next to the old steam generator at Bonab with a capacity of 650 megawatts, and by combining the capacity of these two power plants, the capacity of power generation in South East Azerbaijan will reach over one thousand megawatts, which is a very favorable condition for the region’s electricity supply, especially
