Construction of Sahand F-Class Combined Cycle Power Plan has been commenced

The Construction of the Sahand F-Class 451 MW combined cycle power plant in East Azerbaijan province began with a video conference on the order of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday 1st August 2019.
The working scope includes the construction of a combined cycle block consisting of one gas unit with the capacity of 307 megawatts and a steam turbine with the capacity of 144 megawatts in ISO conditions (totally 451 megawatts) and 58% efficiency.
Client of Project is Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, MAPNA Group as a Contractor, Ghods Niroo Engineering Company as an Engineering Consultant and Niroo Consulting Engineering Company as a site Supervisor.
Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy also said at the ceremony: The capacity of Sahand Bonab combined cycle power plant that is 451 MW, will be synchronized at summer 1400. The project is valued at € 250 million and the first fuel of this plant is Gas and the second fuel is gasoline.
The power plant will be built next to the old steam generator at Bonab with a capacity of 650 megawatts, and by combining the capacity of these two power plants, the capacity of power generation in South East Azerbaijan will reach over one thousand megawatts, which is a very favorable condition for the region’s electricity supply, especially in the industrial and agriculture is provided.
